7. Concluding remarks

 On 24 June 2024, in accordance with the standard publication schedule, revised annual figures for 1995 to 2023 will be published on StatLine, the online CBS database, including the revised quarterly figures up to the end of the first quarter of 2024. On 4 July 2024, the set of tables for the 2023 National Accounts will be published in accordance with the outcomes of the 2021 revision.

In accordance with the adopted European policy, the following revision of the national accounts is expected to be published in 2029 and will concern reporting year 2026. This revision will bring the Netherlands into step with the new guidelines issued by the European System of Accounts, which are currently under development. As these guidelines cannot be implemented in the European context without due legislative process, both the publication year and the reporting year of the next revision may be subject to change.

In accordance with the Netherlands’ revision policy, the financial accounts and balance sheets are currently revised on an annual basis. From this revision onwards, primary income and income and capital transfers from non-financial accounts will also be revised annually. If there are grounds to do so, CBS may also decide to carry out interim revisions (on a limited scale) for other parts of the national accounts.
