Publication revision National accounts, reporting period 2021 erratum

6. Previous revisions

The table below shows the effects on GDP and GNI of previous revisions of the Dutch national accounts. The adjustments in the revision for reporting year 1977 were entirely due to the use of new and revised statistics. The revision for reporting year 1987 can also be attributed almost entirely to realignment with source data. The revision for reporting year 1995 was occasioned by the implementation of ESA 1995, a new European regulation with considerable implications for the Dutch national accounting system.

In the revision for reporting year 2001, a limited number of conceptual changes were made, not least the inclusion of Special Purpose Entities (SPEs) in the national accounts and the allocation of financial intermediation services indirectly measured (FISIM) to users. The details of this revision can be found in the publication entitled National Accounts 2004, Revision 2001.

ESA 2010 guidelines were implemented during the revision for reporting year 2010. In addition, the increased use of administrative data in economic statistics by CBS fundamentally changed the source situation compared to 2001. This is reflected in the 2010 revision, the details of which can be found in the publication entitled National Accounts Revision 2010.

In the revision for reporting year 2015, full alignment took place between the CBS rest of the world account and the DNB balance of payments. Several new or modified sources were also used in the national accounts and various conceptual changes introduced. Details can be found in the publication entitled National Accounts Revision 2015
