Resilience

Major shocks, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, affect all aspects of well-being. How able is the Netherlands to resist a major shock in the short run? Resilience refers to whether people are still able to meet their basic needs ('here and now'), whether the environment, society, economy and important systems are strong enough ('later') and how dependent the Netherlands are to the rest of the world ('elsewhere').
