In week 3 (18 to 24 January 2021 inclusive), estimated mortality stood at 3,800. This is 450 deaths in excess of the expected number for this period.

Investments almost 9 percent down in August
The volume of investments in tangible fixed assets was 8.6 percent down in August 2020 relative to the same month last year. This contraction is larger than in the previous two months.
Week 52: mortality further up among long-term care users
In week 52 of 2020 (21 to 27 December inclusive), there were 3.8 thousand deaths. The number of deaths rose further among people receiving long-term care.
