Annual Report Youth Monitor 2023

How many children grow up in families receiving income support? How many young people are economically independent? And how many young people have anxiety symptoms? This and more is described in the Annual 2023 National Youth Monitor. The report uses various themes to paint a picture of the current situation of young people in the Netherlands.

Topics covered in the Annual Youth Monitor include family situation, youth care, growing up in a family on income support, school, work, crime, drug use, mental health and well-being. In addition, this edition also covers early school leavers. Developments and regional differences are discussed, as well as the situation of young people in the Dutch Caribbean.

The Annual Report was compiled by Statistics Netherlands in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. The content is based on figures from the National Youth Monitor.
