The Poor Side of the Netherlands contains an overview of the main figures from the Poverty Monitor, published jointly by Statistics Netherlands and the Netherlands Social and Cultural Planning Agency since 1997, initially yearly, but now every other year. In addition to figures on the extent of and developments in poverty in the Netherlands, the report also contains information on groups in society at risk and their circumstances. The report also pays special attention to issues such as social exclusion, the dynamics of poverty, the poverty trap, and work as a means to escape poverty.
