What does the survey cover?
Purpose
These statistics provide a picture of the composition and distribution of the income of persons and households in the Caribbean Netherlands.
Target population
The population in private households on the 31st of December in the year under review.

About one and a half years after each research year, preliminary data is available. A year later, these are replaced by definitive data.

The survey is based on integral registrations.

Quality of the results
Accuracy
Due to integral observation, there are no sampling margins. However, registrations are not flawless. To a limited extent, there are restrictions regarding the timeliness, completeness and accuracy of data. Particularly for preliminary outcomes missing data is approximated using additional information, consisting of both historical figures and estimates based on related indicators. For some households no such data can be found; these households are left out of the survey population. Some of the income components are only observed through registers. For persons who do not (have to) file income tax forms, therefore, the observation of these components is missing. In particular, income from equity and alimony is underestimated, especially for people with low incomes.
Sequential comparability
The statistics can be compared over time from 2011 onwards.
