Application

The first step towards working with CBS microdata consists of three parts:

• Application for institutional authorisation

  This part can be skipped if your institution has already been authorised. If your institution has not yet been authorised to access CBS microdata, the head of your institution must submit a request to the Director General of Statistics Netherlands (CBS).

• Application review

  This part can be skipped if your institution has already been authorised. Your application will be reviewed by CBS on, among other things, whether the institution's main activity is statistical or scientific research and whether the research information is publicly disseminated.

• Submission of project application

  If your institution has been authorised, you can submit a project application by sending a description of the intended research to CBS Microdata Services. This can be done by email via a template. You are requested to give an indication of the required datasets from the catalogue, if possible
