Temporary Protection Directive

The Temporary Protection Directive (TBD) gives refugees from Ukraine the right to accommodation and medical care in the Netherlands. Education for minor children is also covered, as well as the opportunity to work for adults.

The Temporary Protection Directive has been extended to 4 March 2026. Temporary protection will end when the directive expires, or sooner if the Council deems a safe return to Ukraine to be possible.
