Construction goods

The classification of goods in this news release is based on the first digit of the NSTR. It involves the following classification:

0 Agricultural products and live animals
1 Food products and animal feeding stuffs
2 Solid mineral fuels
3 Petroleum and petroleum products
4 Metal ores and residues
5 Metals, semi-manufactured metal products
6 Crude minerals and building materials
7 Fertilisers
8 Chemical products
9 Vehicles, machinery, other goods and manufactured goods

Construction goods (e.g. sand, gravel, soil, cement, stone and other building materials) are classified as NSTR category 6. In addition, there are other construction-related goods which are not covered by NSTR 6, such as bitumen used in asphalt (NSTR8) or windows, doors and window frames (NSTR9).
