A heat pump is a device that heats interior spaces and/or produces domestic hot water. A heat pump extracts low-temperature heat from the ground (to a depth of 500 metres) or the air. By supplying auxiliary energy (usually electricity), the temperature is raised and the heat is transferred to air or water.
