Following family members

Following family members are relatives of asylum permit holders. They have actually entered the Netherlands and received a residence permit immediately upon entry.

To be able to bring family members to the Netherlands, the asylum permit holder must apply for a provisional residence permit (MVV). This application must be made within 3 months after obtaining the asylum permit. Once granted, the MVV is valid for 90 days. Family members can collect the MVVs at the embassy (consular services), and enter the Netherlands. The number of asylum permits for family reunification is not equal to the number of MVVs granted to these following relatives.
