Houses on Bonaire more expensive
The price index of dwellings sold on Bonaire rose from 109.4 points in 2017 to 133.0 points in 2018, i.e. an increase of 21.6 percent. This means that the index is at its highest level since measurement started in 2011.
The increase is partly influenced by the a relatively higher number of homes sold that are situated right by the sea. Measurements include both existing and new-build owner-occupied dwellings.

Home sales up on Bonaire
In addition to prices, the number of homes sold on Bonaire went up as well. In 2018, the number of housing transactions stood at 327, versus 214 in 2017. This is an increase of 52.8 percent and is partly due to the completion of new building complexes.
The sharp rise in transactions is also reflected in the total sales value. This value stood at 111.1 million US dollars in 2018, more than double the amount in 2017.
