Crude oil price down
In June 2019, the price of a barrel of crude North Sea Brent oil was approximately 56 euros, 14 percent lower than in June 2018. In May 2019, the crude oil barrel price stood at almost 63 euros, nearly 4 percent down on May 2018.
Output prices are strongly affected by crude oil price developments. In June, prices of petroleum derivatives decreased by 8.9 percent year-on-year. Prices were up by over 0.2 percent in May.
In the chemical industry as well, output prices are generally linked to crude oil price developments. Output prices of chemical products were 2.4 percent lower in June than in the same month last year. In May, prices increased by 0.6 percent year-on-year.
Prices in most sectors of manufacturing were higher in June 2019 than in the same month one year previously.

Prices of manufactured products decreased in June
Manufacturing output prices fell by 1.3 percent in June relative to May. They decreased by 1.0 percent on the domestic market and by 1.6 percent on the export market.
