Vehicle kilometres

The chart “Traffic deaths among car occupants” presents the annual number of vehicle km driven by the Dutch population (not including the institutionalised population) on Dutch territory. The total number of vehicle kilometres includes both the kilometres in general travel and in occupational travel. Examples of occupational travel include taxi rides and parcel deliveries.

The base year is 2017, the most recently available year.
Serving as the basis for calculating the annual number of passenger kilometres are results from the mobility survey ‘Onderzoek Verplaatsingen in Nederland (OViN)’.
