For this survey, CBS used data from its Social Statistics database (SSB). A cohort of Polish employees was isolated from the database. This included Polish people who held an employee job in the Netherlands in 2011 and who had not been in the Netherlands previously, i.e. who had not been registered with a Dutch municipality in the past nor had worked in the Netherlands as an employee. Data known about this group of Polish people included the following: annual wages over the years 2011-2015, age, gender, date of municipal registration, type of job (permanent/not permanent) and income (annual wages, standardised according to the minimum annual salary for adults aged 23 and over). Polish migrants who initially held employee jobs but started working as self-employed (300 people) were not included in this survey.
