Thirteen forms of nuisance

Respondents were asked whether these 13 types of nuisances ever occurred in their own neighbourhood. If they answered yes, they were asked to indicate whether they experienced these as a great nuisance, a minor nuisance or not a nuisance.
The following forms of nuisance were listed:
1. Litter in the street;
2. Vandalised public items such as litter bins, benches or bus shelters;
3. Graffiti on walls or buildings;
4. Animal poop on sidewalks or in the street;
5. Speeding cars;
6. Parking issues, e.g. wrongly parked vehicles or too many parked vehicles;
7. Aggressive behaviour in traffic;
8. Drunken people in the street;
9. Drugs use or drug dealing, for instance in the street or in coffeeshops;
10. Nuisance caused by cafés, restaurants, snack bars;
11. Nuisance caused by residents in the neighbourhood;
12. People being bothered in the street;
13. Youths hanging about.

The following forms of nuisance refer to physical decline:
1. Litter in the street;
2. Vandalised public items such as litter bins, benches or bus shelters;
3. Graffiti on walls or buildings;
4. Animal poop on sidewalks or in the street.

The following forms of nuisance refer to social nuisance:
1. Drunken people in the street;
2. Drugs use or drug dealing, for instance in the street or in coffeeshops;
3. People being bothered in the street;
4. Youths hanging about.

The following forms of nuisance refer to traffic nuisance:
1. Speeding cars;
2. Parking issues, e.g. wrongly parked vehicles or too many parked vehicles;
3. Aggressive behaviour in traffic.

The following are other forms of nuisance:
1. Nuisance caused by cafés, restaurants, snack bars;
2. Nuisance caused by residents in the neighbourhood.
