Which farms need to reduce their dairy herds?

Dairy herds of cattle farms producing milk for consumption or processing are being reduced step by step. This means that female bovine cattle population has to be reduced to the number registered as at 2 July 2015, minus 4 percent. The 4 percent reduction does not apply to soil-bound farms. Under this regulation, soil-bound farms are dairy farms which, based on an annual statement for 2015 (Gecombineerde Opgave 2015) had sufficient land to spread all manure (kilograms of phosphate).
