Sports and recreational shopping

Recreational activities such as sports and recreational shopping are regarded as tourism if they last more than two hours including travel time.

Tourism in the National Accounts includes activities of people who travel to and stay in places outside their normal place of residence, for the purpose of recreation, business or other purposes not related to activities that are remunerated from the place visited. A time criterion is applied to define the normal place of residence. Persons leave their normal place of residence if an activity including travel time lasts more than two hours but less than twelve months.
