Largest growth investments in over a year

Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reports that the volume of investments in tangible fixed assets was nearly 17 percent up in May 2017 from the same month last year. Investments in residential property and means of transport grew significantly in May. Investments in machinery and non-residential buildings were also higher.

Investment data have not been adjusted for calendar effects. May 2017 had two working days more than May 2016. According to the CBS Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands is less favourable in July than in May.

Investment climate less favourable in July

According to the CBS Investment Radar, the investment climate in the Netherlands deteriorated in July compared to May, mainly because the growth of exports on a yearly basis was less substantial. The rise in share prices was also somewhat smaller. The investment climate is affected by various factors, like the situation on the global and financial markets.
