Highest house price increase in almost nine years
Prices 9.8 percent up from dip in June 2013
In August 2008, house prices reached a record high. Subsequently, they fell to a low in June 2013. Since then, residential property prices have shown an upward trend. House prices are 13.8 percent below the record level of August 2008, but 9.8 percent higher than during the price dip in June 2013. The average price level of owner-occupied houses in June 2016 was about the same as in January 2005.
House sales further up
According to figures released last Monday by the Dutch Land Registry Office, 17,862 houses were sold in June. During the first six months of this year 93,212 houses were sold, an increase by almost one-quarter compared to the same period in 2015.
Today, Statistics Netherlands also publishes more detailed information by region and type of dwelling on a quarterly basis.
