Education-related travel refers to spending by foreign students in the Netherlands (export) and spending by Dutch students abroad (import). Spending includes costs of living and study costs.
Care-related travel refers to care granted to foreigners in the Netherlands (export) and care received by Dutch abroad (import). This partly concerns people who have travelled abroad with the specific intention to receive care, but care provided to tourists are also included in these figures.
