In the Dutch figures on Dutch export value, a distinction is made between exports after production of the goods in the Netherlands (Dutch-manufactured exports) on the one hand, and exports after imports from abroad and possibly some additional processing of the goods (re-exports) on the other. This distinction is important, since one euro earned from Dutch-manufactured exports contributes five times as much to the Dutch economy as one euro from re-exports. This article focuses on Dutch-manufactured exports only, and re-exports from the Netherlands to Asia are not taken into consideration.
