Developing new or strongly improved products (product innovation) and/or adopting new or strongly improved production processes (process innovation). The concept of innovation further includes organisational innovation and marketing innovation. Innovation can roughly be divided into two main types: technological and non-technological. Technological innovation includes product innovation and process innovation, while non-technological innovation concerns organisational innovation and marketing innovation.
