Cancer

In this news release, cancer is taken to be defined as: malignant neoplasms formed by cells which proliferate and divide uncontrollably and can metastasise to affect other organs and which can replace or destroy normal tissue  (ICD-10 codes: C00-C97). This article provides an overview of different forms of cancer among men and women, including:

  • Lung cancer: malignant neoplasms of trachea (or tracheal branches) or lung (ICD-10 codes: C33-C34);
  • Colorectal cancer: malignant neoplasms of colon, sigmoid colon and rectum (ICD-10 codes: C18-C21).
