The calculation of the share of renewable energy is in line with the European guidelines and uses energetic final energy consumption. This is the energy consumption by final users (manufacturing, households, services, agriculture and transport) for energetic applications. So it excludes the use of non-energetic applications such as the use of petrol as a raw material in the production of plastics. The calculations are in line with the EU Renewable Energy Directive. These are slightly different calculation methods than the ones used to calculate the national energy balance, so the final energy consumption in the renewable energy statistics is not exactly the same as the energetic final consumption from the national energy balance.
