Official estimate

The figures presented in this news release are the first estimate over 2014 for the public sector conducted by Statistics Netherlands. Data referring to earlier years were published simultaneously with the publication of National Accounts in June 2014.
The figures published by Statistics Netherlands about the government balance and the government debt have an official status. They are reported to the European Commission under the 'Excessive Deficit Procedure' (EDP). The frequency is twice a year, prior to 1 April andd 1 October. Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, will verify and publish the figures about the deficits and debts of all member states on 21 April this year. The figures have to be submitted before 1 April 2015.
