Centralised and decentralised electricity production
Centralised production: production of electricity by thermal or nuclear power plants which supply it to the national high voltage network. Thermal plants use natural gas, coal and biomass to produce elevctricity. Nuclear plants produce energy by nuclear fission. Decentralised productiion: production of electricity by thermal power plants which supply electricity to a private or local medium or low voltage networks, plus all electricity production from wind, hydro and solar energy.
