Standardised suicide rate

The number of suicides per 100 thousand inhabitants. As the number of suicides correlates with the composition of the population in terms of age and sex, to make comparisons in time the figures are corrected for these effects . The composition of the population in the most recent years is used as the standard. For the international comparison (source: OECD) the OECD population was used as the basis for standardisation.
