Exports to Ukraine nearly halved
In August 2014 Dutch exports to the Ukraine reached 54 million euros wheras in August 2013 exports to the Ukrain were valued at 98 million. This sharp decrease is due to the political tensions in the country that have been increasing for nearly a year.

Far fewer road transport vehicles exported
In the period January-August 2014 the Netherlands exported 517 million euros worth of goods to the Ukraine. This is significantly less than the 822 million euros of the same period in 2013. Exports fell in all product categories, but the largest decrease was in the export of road transport vehicless (-65 percent).

The Netherlands is a major trading partner for the Ukraine
The Ukraine is the 51st export country for the Netherlands with an export share of 0.2 percent. However, the Netherlands is a major trading partner for the Ukraine, being its fifth import country of all EU countries (behind Germany, Poland, Hungary and Italy) with a 5 percent share in import value.
In the first eight months of 2014 the EU export to the Ukraine was down by 28 percent on the same period in 2013. In terms of value, Germany and Poland suffer the greatest export losses to the Ukraine.
