In 2012, the value of imports from the Russian Federation amounted to 20.3 billion euros. Petroleum and gas accounted for the bulk of imports (92 percent). Exports to Russia exceeded a value of 7 billion euros in 2012. Machinery and equipment accounted for approximately half (51 percent) of exports. Over the first ten months of 2013, imports totalled 17.1 billion euros, exports totalled 5.8 billion euros. Compared to the first ten months of 2012, imports maintained the same level, but exports declined marginally by 2 percent.
