The European figures regarding social media use in the Netherlands cannot be compared to the Dutch figures mentioned earlier in this article. Firstly, because the European figures refer to a smaller age group ((16-75 years instead of 12 years and older). Secondly, in the European survey, social media users are expressed a s a percentage of all persons in the age category 16-75 years and not as a percentage of all internet users. Lastly, 2011 is the most recent year European figures are available.
