Aids

In the Health Survey conducted by  Statistics Netherlands, people are asked whether they use aids.

Reading and visual aids: the percentage of people who answer ‘yes’ to at least one of the following questions:

• Do you occasionally wear glasses?
• Do you occasionally wear contact lenses?
• Do you use other reading or visual aids?

Hearing aids: the percentage of people who answer ‘yes’ to at least one of the following questions:

• Do you use a hearing aid?
• Do you use a special device to amplify sound, e.g. for your telephone or TV set?

Mobility aids: the percentage of people who answer ‘yes’ to at least one of the following questions:

• Do you use a walking stick, crutch, walking frame or wheeled walker?
• Do you have a wheelchair or mobility scooter?

Incontinence aids: the percentage of people who answer ‘yes’ to at least one of the following questions:

• Do you use incontinence materials?
• Do you have a catheter, urinal?
• Do you have a stoma and stoma material to collect urine or faeces?
