A maximum rent increase applies for tenants, except in the case of liberalised contracts. Since 1 July 2013, the maximum rent increase equals the inflation rate of the previous year plus a percentage related to the tenant’s household income. The maximum increase is:
- 2.5% + 1.5% = 4.0% for incomes to 33,614 euros inclusive - 2,5% + 2.0% = 4.5% for incomes between 33,614 and 43,000 euros - 2.5% + 4.0% = 6.5% for incomes above 43,000 euros.
