Terms of trade improved
Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved in March 2013 relative to March 2012. Prices of imported and exported goods were respectively 1.7 and 0.8 percent down from one year previously. March was the first month since the end of 2009, in which import as well as export prices were below the level of one year previously.
Import and export prices of minerals, petroleum derivatives, basic metal and metal products were considerably lower than in March 2012. On the other hand, prices of food, drinks and tobacco were up from one year previously.
