Unemployment still growing rapidly
Adjusted for seasonal variation, 613 thousand people in the Netherlands were unemployed in February 2013, an increase by 21 thousand relative to January 2013. In the preceding month, unemployment had also increased by 21 thousand. Unemployment has risen almost continuously since mid-2011.
Seasonally adjusted unemployment
In February this year, 7.7 percent of the Dutch labour force were unemployed, as against 7.5 percent in January. The unemployment rate rose among both men and women and across all age groups. With 15.5 percent, the highest unemployment rate in February was recorded among 15 to 24-year-olds.
