Single parents
A single parent is the only parent in a household. The household is a private household, including one parent and one or more under age children living at home. The survey only covers single parents in the 15-65 age bracket.
Children living at home are children who have a child-parent relation with one parent or guardian belonging to the household. Children living at home also include adopted children and stepchildren, but foster children are excluded. The marital status of the children is not taken into account.
The number of single-parent families is based upon the household statistics and the municipal population registers (GBA).
