Soviet citizens
A Soviet citizen is defined as a person born in one of the 15 states which seceded from the Soviet Union during its dissolution in December 1991. Persons born in one of these 15 states after 1991 are also referred to in this article as persons from the former Soviet Union.
The former Soviet Union consists of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
