Main mode of transport
Figures are calculated on the basis of the main mode of transport.
The main mode of transport is defined as the means used to travel from one place to another, except if the journey includes more than one trip. A trip is defined as (part of) a journey using one mode of transport and ending when the destination is reached or when the means of transport is changed.
When travelling from one place to another, the main mode of transport is taken into account. The priority list is given below:
- train
- bus/tram/underground
- motorist
- car passenger
- cab
- motorcycle/motor scooter
- moped
- light moped
- bicycle
- bicycle passenger
- other
- pedestrian
- unknown.
