Terms of trade worsen again
Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods deteriorated in September 2012 compared with September 2011. Prices of exported goods were 2.9 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 3.1 percent. September is the eighth month in a row in which terms of trade deteriorated compared with one year previously. The deterioration was less substantial than in July and August.
Higher prices for natural gas, petroleum derivatives and agricultural products contributed most to the increase in export prices. Import prices of these products and import prices of crude oil were also higher than one year ago.
