Survey public support and sense of duty towards the police

This article is based upon a survey held in 2011 in the context of the Mixed-mode Experiment Personal Statistics (MEPS)) conducted among over 4 thousand respondent. This survey includes a set of questions regarding public support for the police and the sense of duty citizens feel towards the police.

Statistics Netherlands also publishes about the confidence citizens have in institutions like the police. The figures referring to confidence are based on another survey with a different set of questions. For that reason, the results cannot be compared with the figures this article is based on.
