Terms of trade improved marginally
Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved marginally in May 2012 relative to May 2011. Prices of exported goods were 1.7 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 1.6 percent. Terms of trade had also improved slightly in April.
Higher prices for natural gas and petroleum derivatives compared to one year previously contributed most to the increase in export prices. Import prices of these products and import prices of crude oil were also higher than one year ago.
