Terms of trade improved marginally
Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved marginally in April 2012 compared to April 2011. Prices of exported goods were 2.2 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 2.1 percent. In March, terms of trade deteriorated slightly.
Higher prices for natural gas and petroleum derivatives contributed most to the increase in export prices. Import prices of these products and import prices of crude oil were also higher than one year previously.
The figures published in this update have been adjusted from those published on 14 June 2012. The revision is based on more recent and detailed information.
