Terms of trade deteriorated marginally
Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods deteriorated marginally in March 2012 compared to March 2011. Prices of exported goods were 2.9 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 3.1 percent. March was the second month in a row in which terms of trade deteriorated slightly.
Higher prices for natural gas and petroleum derivatives contributed most to the increase in export prices. Import prices of these products and import prices for crude oil were also higher than one year previously.
