To reduce the influence of accidental weather conditions on the figures, the production of windmills is normalised according to the new EU Directive on the promotion and use of energy from renewable sources. The normalised production in 2011 is calculated as the capacity in 2011 multiplied by the average production per capacity unit in the previous five years.
