Terms of trade improved
Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods improved in December 2011 compared to December 2010. Prices of exported goods were 2.6 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 1.9 percent. December is the second month in a row to show improvement.
Higher prices for natural gas and petroleum derivatives contributed most to the increase in export prices. Import prices of these products and import prices for crude oil were also higher than one year previously.
