Personal capital
Statistics on personal capital are compiled using information from the income tax administration. Other sources used are information on bank balances, ownership of securities and house values. Current accounts and consumer debts are only observed on a limited scale. The results reflect mainly the more valuable assets and larger debts.
Personal capital (or equity) is the value of assets such as an own home, other real estate, bank and savings balances, shares and bonds, business capital and other assets including cash, minus the outstanding mortgage debt on the own home and other debts.
