Terms of trade deteriorated
Dutch terms of trade of imported and exported goods deteriorated in July compared to July 2010. Prices of exported goods were 5.5 percent higher, prices of imported goods rose by 6.7 percent. In the preceding three months, terms of trade had improved compared to one year previously.
Higher prices for natural gas, petroleum derivatives and food products contributed most to the increase in export prices. Import prices of these products, and import prices for crude oil, were also far beyond the level of one year previously.
