EU countries in Central and Eastern Europe
The European Union (EU) countries in Central and Eastern Europe (MOE countries) are: Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (joined the EU in 2004) and Romania and Bulgaria (joined the EU on 1 January 2007).
The figures presented in this article are based upon the municipal population registers (GBA) and refer to people of the first generation, i.e. born in EU countries in Central and Eastern Europe.
