More bankruptcies

In May this year, 560 businesses and institutions (excluding one-man businesses) in the Netherlands were declared bankrupt, 117 more than in April. 

As the number of businesses declared bankrupt in a particular month is closely related to the number of days the courts are in session, it may vary considerably from month to month. Therefore, the three-monthly moving average is a more reliable indicator.

The three-monthly moving average was 514 in May versus 503 in April. The number of bankruptcies has varied around 500 for almost a year now.
